KOREASAT 6A is a replacement satellite for the existing KOREASAT 6, which has reached the end of its operational lifespan. It is equipped with 20 Ku-band transponders for communication services and 6 Ku-band transponders for broadcasting. The satellite was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space in France and launched by SpaceX in November 2024 from Florida, USA.
KOREASAT 6A supports various missions, including Skylife satellite broadcasting and mobile satellite relay services, providing satellite communication and broadcasting services across South Korea.
