KOREASAT 7 has Ku-Band and Ka-Band transponders on the upgraded Spacebus 4000B2 platform from Thales Alenia Space. The Satellite offers payload power of about 7 kW. KOREASAT 7 is positioned at 116°E and was launched in 2017.
KOREASAT 7 is designed to provide improved throughput and wider coverage over Korea, Philippines, Indochina, India, and Indonesia with the added steerable Ka-Band capacity that can support further demand. KOREASAT 7 enables a full range of video and data applications such as DTH broadcast services, government communications and VSAT networks.
